ABOUT ABIGAIL

I'm an investigative reporter based in New York City, writing breaking news, features, and data-driven narratives about about poverty and city government. My work has led to multiple reforms and increased oversight of social services, especially of the foster care system.

My mission is to shine light on public systems that impact those who are short on resources and political power, but remain largely invisible to everyone else. I have deep knowledge of child welfare, juvenile justice, education and mental health care. I've traveled and worked on five continents, pride myself on getting a good story out of anyone and am a sucker for a perfect sentence.

My work has appeared in ProPublica, THE CITY, Politico, Salon, the Daily News, and other publications. I hold a B.A. from Stanford University and M.A. in journalism from New York University.
